Unfortunately, there is a lot of confusion around what these Body Shop Luxury Flannel Facial Washcloths are actually made of?
When I asked The Body Shop store clerk what it was made of, she hesitated, looked at the package, and replied, "Well...it says it's a flannel..." Even she was confused.
Flannel Washcloth Confusion
Some of the confusion may stem from the product name itself, "Luxury Flannel Facial Washcloth".
The Body Shop originated in Britain, where the word "Flannel" is the equivalent of "Washcloth" in the U.S. So, for us here in the U.S., their product listing simply translates to, "Luxury washcloth facial washcloth," with no mention as to whether it is actually made of flannel.
To add more confusion to the mix, their washcloths are currently listed on Amazon, through The Body Shop itself, and under Fabric Type it is listed as: Flannel. One would conclude then, that their "flannel facial washcloths" are made with flannel. However, that is actually not the case at all.
Is The Body Shop Luxury Flannel Facial Washcloth made with flannel?
To finally eliminate the state of confusion around these washcloths, the answer is NO. The Body Shop Luxury Flannel Facial Washcloths are NOT made with flannel fabric.
So what are they made of?
The Body Shop Luxury Flannel Facial Washcloths are made with 100% PVA (it says so on the package). They come individually packaged (and wet!) in a sealed plastic square.
Someone needs to fix your Amazon listing, folks. It is false advertising.
