My Rosacea skin care routine is really quite simple. While some skin care bloggers and beauty influencers are showing off their clay masks or face-peel-spa-nights with the girls, I'm at home washing my face with the vanilla of all skin care: Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser.
But don't get me wrong, I actually LOVE all things vanilla.
This is not a sponsored post. I just use Vanicream's gentle cleanser and love it so I wanted to share it with anyone who is looking for a good tride and true Rosacea or sensitive skin cleanser.
The Best Skin Care Duo for Rosacea and Sensitive Skin
I use Vanicream's gentle face cleanser [*affiliate link] every night and morning, along with my favorite soft face cloths from Fairface Washcloths.
I generally use Fairface Duals at night, with a soft flannel front and scrubby terrycloth back, and in the morning, I use Fairface Delicate Washcloths (2 layers of soft, double-sided flannel) for a soothing, gentle wash (pictured).
Vanicream's gentle face cleanser and the softness of Fairface Washcloths really are the BEST SKIN CARE DUO I've found, for Rosacea and sensitive skin!
What is in Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser?
Lets look first at what Vanicream cleanser DOESN'T have in it:
-No Fancy smells (thank goodness!) And it doesn't even have a masking fragrance!
-No Harsh chemicals, soap or oils, botanical extracts, sulfates or gluten (I guess it's not just in bread)
-No Pore clogging ingredients
-No Preservatives
What Vanicream gentle cleanser DOES have in it:
-purified water
-glycerin
-coco-glucoside
-sodium cocoyl glycinate
-acrylates copolymer
-caprylyl glycol
-mica
-sodium chloride
-1,2-hexanediol
-titanium dioxide
-sodium hydroxide
-disodium EDTA
-AND it is pH Balanced, Dermatologist tested and praised by the National Eczema Association
This might seem like a long laundry list of chemically-sounding ingredients, but each ingredient has been specifically chosen to create a gentle, non-irritating facial cleanser that can be well tolerated by those with skin sensitivities.
BUT as with everything, I don't just take their word for it.
Vanicream Gentle Cleanser's EWG Rating
So I looked a little further into each ingredient to see what it was and how it rated on safety, and thanks to the Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep database, I was able to gather the information I needed.
What is the EWG? They are an organization that aims to help consumers make safer, educated choices when it comes to what they use in their homes and on their bodies. Yay!
According to EWG's safety rating report on levels of toxicity, allergens, etc, it rated an average score of 2 on a scale of 1 (Best) - 10 (Worst).

I have to say, I don't love learning that it has some questionable ingredients, but I would like to look more into what this really means.
What I do love, is that this gentle cleanser has been SO good to my skin. It really is as gentle as they say it is. It glides across my skin, doesn't irritate at all, and cleans effectively and gently which is huge for me with my Rosacea. This, along with my favorite Fairface Washcloths of all time, I've found the holy grail of Rosacea skin care.
